Cervical Screening Awareness Week

Cervical Screening Awareness Week 19th -24th June.

Cervical screening week aims to promote the importance of regular cervical screening for women’s health. This is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of cervical screening in preventing cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is the most common form of cancer in women under 35, with two women in the UK dying from the disease each day. Regular cervical screening can up to 75% of cervical cancer cases potentially saving 5,000 lives each year.

Goals of the Awareness Week

  • Encouraging women to attend regular cervical screening appointments.
  • Providing information and reassurance to address any fears or misconceptions about the screening process.
  • Highlighting the importance of early detection and treatment of abnormal cell changes that could lead to cervical cancer.
