Professional Care Workers Week
Let's celebrate the role of the care worker!
This week is to highlight the hard work, compassion and dedication of care workers, who provide a critical role in supplying the health and well being of individuals who require care and support.
Care workers carry out valuable work in all settings, such as residential care homes, the home setting and community care.
The role of a care worker is more than just a job, it truly is a calling. The role encompasses so very much, from 24/7 care, providing help in getting in and out of bed. Ensuring medication has been taken and providing nutritional support. It can include housekeeping, cleaning, cooking, transportation to a doctors appointment or other events where support is needed.
Care Organisations and advocates have organise the week of 24th - 30th September, to show their appreciation of all the hard work carried out by care workers. Over the years, the work has been growing in recognition with increasing participation from care organisation, government agencies and the public. The week serves as a platform to celebrate care workers in every element of the valuable work they carry out. We thank you all.
