Comic Relief - Red Nose Day - 21st March

Comic relief is a British charity founded in 1985 by Richard Curtis and Sir Lenny Henry in response to the famine in Ethiopia in 1983-1985.

The concept of Comic Relief was to get British comedians to make the public laugh while raising money for people around the world and the United Kingdom. It is now an annual event which over its 40 years with Sport Relief has raised in excess of £1.4 Billion pounds.

As Comic Relief celebrates its 40th year it is having a big birthday bash. You can buy your Red Nose from the Comic Relief shop or go to Amazon. All the Red Noses are coming back from the 80’s, 90’s, and noughties and 2010’s.

It is a chance to bring people together for a day of laughter, fundraising and making a difference. It’s a day dedicated to using the power of comedy to tackle serious issues and create positive change in the world.
