Stress Awareness Month

Stress Awareness Month 1st - 30th April

This is held every April since 1992 to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures of the modern stress epidemic.

According to the Mental Health Foundation 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. The Stress Management Society record that millions of us around the UK are experiencing high levels of stress and it is damaging to our health. Stress is not taken as seriously as physical health concerns. It can cause mental health problems including anxiety and depression. It can also lead to physical problems like heart disease, problems with our immune systems, insomnia and digestive problems.

It is important that we try and look at what causes us stress as individuals and learn what steps we can take to reduce it ourselves.
