Rose Awareness Week 22nd - 28th June

Rose Awareness Week runs from Monday 22nd June to Sunday 28th June. This week is led by The Rose Society UK to celebrate this wonderful bloom the rose.

This week coincides with the peak of rose growing season when public and private gardens have these beautiful flowers in full bloom.

Rose Awareness Week is an annual event to promote roses, rose growing, and the heritage and culture surrounding this flower. It is a week to encourage people to plant, prune, and enjoy roses.

Why do roses matter? Well, they are important to UK horticulture and contribute to the country’s gardens, parks, and public spaces. Roses provide habitat and food for pollinators and remain one of the most popular cut flowers in the world.

This week supports the British rose-growing industry and to help the specialist nurseries that maintain heritage varieties. You can get involved by planting a rose or visit a rose garden such as RHS Wisley or Regents Park.
