This month is to raise awareness of urology diseases, including bladder, kidney, and prostate problems. The theme for this month is “Bladder Leakage: Time to Act.”

There are urology cancers such as, bladder, kidney, prostate, penile and testicular. There are also illnesses such as urinary tract infections (UTI’s) erectile dysfunction and kidney stones.

This month is to make the public aware of urology problems and get people talking about them.

1 in 5 people in the UK are affected by bladder problems. 1 in 3 women live with bladder leakage. (figures from Brunel Health network). People can experience bladder leakage for a variety of reasons. After menopause or child birth women can experience bladder leakage.

Some people suffer from an overactive bladder and urge incontinence, some have stress or mixed incontinence or overflow incontinence. Treatment after bladder cancer can also lead to urinary incontinence.
